Visa cancelled soaring Turkish footwear exports

Turkish Shoe Association **Islem Saikeer said that due to the cancellation of visas in some countries, Turkish footwear exports soared in the first half of this year, an increase of 41.8%, and footwear exports almost doubled.

In a written statement, Sekler pointed out that Turkey produces 121 million shoes each year, making it the third largest and the world's ninth largest footwear producer in Europe. The footwear industry is one of the fastest-recovering industries after the economic crisis. Turkey has a total of 18,500 factories and 240,000 workers are engaged in production.

He stressed that after canceling visas in some countries, Turkish footwear exports soared in the first half of the year, up by 41.8%.
