spring wardrobe edit with liesl + co.

On Saturday, we were greeted by an unexpected snowfall, which was quite a shock given the season. However, the sudden chill has only fueled my desire for a fresh spring wardrobe. As the weather shifts, I thought it would be fun to share some creative ways to make standout pieces using three of our popular patterns. Let’s start with the Girl Friday Culottes. These versatile trousers can easily transition from casual to chic. For a crisp, minimalist look, consider making a pair in a bright white fabric with deep cuffs. This adds a touch of sophistication and pairs beautifully with neutral tones like tan or cream. A slouchy top in a complementary color, such as the Maritime Top or Bento Tee, can complete the ensemble. Alternatively, you can create a monochromatic faux pantsuit by pairing the culottes with a tailored Classic Shirt or Geneva V-Neck Blouse. Tucking the blouse in will give you that polished, put-together look. Moving on to outerwear, both of these military-inspired jackets can be crafted using the Yanaka Jacket pattern with just a few tweaks. Adding metal buttons gives them an authentic edge. If you're feeling adventurous, you could lengthen the jacket to mimic the design on the right or add decorative trim for a look inspired by the piece on the left. Lastly, let’s talk about skirts. The City Stroll Wrap Skirt pattern is perfect for creating stylish, flowy garments. By extending the length of the pattern, you can achieve the elegant pink skirt seen on the left. Pairing it with a striped Bento Tee will give you a trendy, modern look similar to the one on the right. What are your thoughts? Do any of these styles resonate with you, or do you have other ideas in mind? Let me know what catches your eye! --- As the seasons change, so does our wardrobe inspiration. I love how these patterns allow us to experiment with different styles while staying true to our personal aesthetic. Whether you’re aiming for something classic, edgy, or playful, there’s always room to express yourself through fashion. If you decide to try out any of these projects, don’t forget to share your creations! It’s always inspiring to see how others interpret and personalize these designs. Happy sewing!

Long Dresses

Long Dresses, also known as maxi dresses, are typically ankle-length or longer and come in various styles, including A-line, wrap, sheath, and empire waist. Long Style Dresses are made from different materials such as lightweight cotton, silky satin, and flowy chiffon. The versatility of Sleeveless Long Dresses means they can be worn for casual outings, formal events, or even as bridal wear.
One of the many benefits of wearing a long dress is the comfort level. Unlike tight-fitting dresses, long dresses flow with the body and provide a relaxed fit that allows for ease of movement. The length of the dress also provides added comfort as it covers up the legs, making it an ideal choice for women who may be self-conscious about their legs.
Another advantage of long dresses is their versatility. They can be dressed up or down with the right accessories, shoes, or jackets. Paired with a sweater, denim jacket, or leather jacket, long dresses can be worn during cooler seasons. Add a statement necklace, earrings, or a clutch, and the dress can be transformed into a formal outfit suitable for events such as weddings or galas.
Long dresses come in various colors, patterns, and textures. For those who love bold prints, a long dress with floral, stripes, or animal prints make an excellent choice. Solid colors such as black, white, navy, and red are classic, timeless options that can be accessorized in many ways.
For women who prefer a more delicate look, long dresses made from sheer fabric like chiffon or mesh provide an airy, whimsical aesthetic. Lace is a beautiful texture that gives long dresses a feminine touch. A lace maxi dress is perfect for garden parties, weddings, or even as a vacation outfit.
