On Saturday, we were greeted with an unexpected snowfall, which was quite a shock given the season. However, this sudden cold spell has only fueled my longing for spring fashion. Today, I wanted to share some creative ideas for making standout pieces using three of our patterns.
Let’s start with the Girl Friday Culottes. There are two distinct ways you can style these culottes to create a chic look. The first option is a crisp white version with a deep cuff, which exudes elegance. To match this aesthetic, pair the culottes with a relaxed tan top—something like the Maritime Top or the Bento Tee would work beautifully. Alternatively, consider creating a faux pantsuit by pairing the culottes with a matching Classic Shirt or Geneva V-Neck Blouse tucked in at the waist for a polished finish.
If you’re into military-inspired styles, both of the jackets shown here can be adapted from the Yanaka Jacket pattern with just a few tweaks. All you’ll need to do is add some metal buttons to achieve the desired effect. For a longer silhouette, similar to the jacket on the right, simply extend the length during construction.
