Taffeta volume reduction down
In recent days, the sales of "polyester taffeta" in Lilibu Cloth Market of China Textile City have been lower compared to previous periods, with inventory levels continuing to decline as prices dropped. With the arrival of high temperatures, the off-season market has started to show signs of weakness, and the production capacity of the former Dadu Cloth fabric has remained stable—neither increased nor reduced. Varieties such as "Dita Fu," "Lightweight Spinning," "Five Satin," "Eight Satin," and "Satin" are now less available from stock, with some manufacturers having almost no goods left. Gray cloth prices have risen due to product differentiation.
Due to the heat, many buyers and direct clients who came to the textile city recently had to cut down on their orders. For example, the main fabric lining variety, 63D190T dyed "Dita Fu," has only a small amount of stock remaining, while 61D190T dyed "Dita Fu" is more readily available. Overall, the 190T dyed "Dita Fu" has more stock than the 170T varieties, with occasional small cash transactions. Prices have fallen slightly, dropping about 0.10 yuan/m in the last few days, and up to 0.20 yuan/m in some cases. Due to fabric shortages, many orders failed to be finalized.
Similarly, 63D210T dyed "Dita Fu" has limited stock, while 61D210T dyed "Dita Fu" is more available. The overall stock level for 210T dyed "Dita Fu" is similar to that of 190T varieties, with occasional small batch cash deals. Prices have also declined, falling by around 0.15 yuan/m in the past few days, and up to 0.25 yuan/m in some instances. Again, many orders were not closed due to the lack of available fabric.
With the onset of the off-season in China Textile City, the autumn and winter lines of "polyester taffeta" in the lining fabric have been pulled back, and the sales of lighter fabrics have picked up slightly. This shift has led to a noticeable change in buyer behavior and inventory management across the market.
