The first "Gold Shuttle Award" announced the selection of textile designers
Recently, the first "Jinsuo Award" National Textile Fabric Designer Awards were officially announced in Beijing. This prestigious event recognized 40 talented fabric designers from leading companies across China's cotton, wool, silk, hemp, chemical fiber, and knitting industries. These designers received esteemed titles such as "Top Ten Textile Fabric Designers in China," "National Excellent Textile Fabric Designers," and "National Textile Fabric Designers Finalist Award." Additionally, three organizations—Shandong Nanshan Textile and Garment Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Danmao Textile Co., Ltd., and Zhejiang Modern Textile Industry Research Institute—were honored with the "Textile Fabric Designer Training Advanced Unit" award.
Notable industry leaders attended the event, including Sun Ruizhe, Vice President of the China Textile Industry Association; Peng Yanli, Chairman of the China Wool Textile Industry Association; Fu Guangwei, Deputy Director of the China Textile Information Center; Long Yunze, General Manager of Beijing Textile Holding Co., Ltd.; and Chen Yuzhe, President of the Beijing Textile and Apparel Industry Association.
During the same period, the China Textile Information Center and Beijing Xuelian Group Co., Ltd. jointly inaugurated the "Textile Fabric Designer Vocational Skills Experimental Base." The two parties also signed a cooperation agreement focusing on the development of the clothing creative industry.
The first "Golden Lock Award" national textile designer selection was sponsored by the China Textile Information Center, in collaboration with the National Textile Products Development Center, China Silk Road Group, and Beijing Xuelian Group.
It is worth noting that since the new century, China's textile industry has experienced rapid growth, becoming the world's largest textile and garment production hub. However, despite this progress, it remains clear that the design and manufacturing capabilities of many Chinese textile enterprises are still relatively weak. To address this, the China Textile Information Center applied to the state for the establishment of a new occupational category: textile fabric designers. In April 2007, textile fabric designers were officially included in the ninth batch of new occupations announced by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.
Since 2010, the industry has held biennial competitions to select the Top Ten Textile Fabric Designers and recognize advanced training units. The newly established vocational skills experimental base aims to enhance the design capabilities of domestic fabric designers and play a crucial role in improving training and certification processes. This initiative marks a significant step forward in elevating the status and influence of textile fabric designers in China.
