In the process of forming a knitted fabric on a knitting machine, the yarn is subjected to complicated mechanical actions such as stretching, bending, twisting, and friction. In order to ensure the normal production and the quality of the product, the yarn for knitting should meet the following requirements:


1, the yarn should have a certain strength and extensibility

The strength of the yarn is an important quality index of the yarn for knitting. Because the yarn undergoes certain tension and repeated loads during the preparation and weaving process, the yarn for knitting must have a certain strength. In addition, the yarn is subjected to bending and torsional deformation during the knitting and knitting process. Therefore, the knitting yarn is also required to have a certain degree of extensibility so as to be bent into a loop during knitting and to reduce yarn breakage.


2, the yarn should have good flexibility

Knitting yarns are more flexible than weaving yarns. 3, the line should have a certain degree of twist

In general, the twist of a knitting yarn is lower than that of a weaving yarn. If the twist is too large, the softness of the yarn is poor, and it is not easy to be bent or twisted during weaving, and it is also easy to cause kinks, resulting in weaving blemishes and damage to the knitting needles; in addition, excessively large yarns may affect the elasticity of the knitted fabrics. However, the twist of the knitting yarn should not be too low, otherwise it will affect its strength, increase the breakage during weaving, and the yarn is bulky, so that the fabric can be easily pilled and pilling, and the wearing performance of the knitted fabric can be reduced. 4, the yarn's linear density should be uniform, less yarn defects

The evenness of the yarn linear density, that is, the uniformity of the yarn, is an important quality index of the yarn for knitting. The even and uniform yarns are beneficial to the knitting process and ensure the quality of the fabric, so that the coil structure is uniform and the fabric surface is clear. If there is a thick knot on the yarn, the weaving will not be able to pass smoothly, causing the yarn to break or damage the parts. 5, yarn should have good hygroscopicity

The ability of yarns to absorb moisture in the air is called hygroscopicity. The yarn used for knitting should have a certain hygroscopicity. 6, the yarn has a good finish and a small coefficient of friction

Knitting yarns should be free of impurities and grease, and should be as smooth as possible. Non-smooth yarns have great wear on the parts, which can easily damage the parts and fly in the workshop. This not only affects the health of the workers, but also affects the productivity of the knitting machine and the quality of the fabric.
