From January to August, China's textile and apparel exports to Japan reached 16.9 billion U.S. dollars, down 0.5% year-on-year, 14.5 percentage points lower than the national textile and apparel export growth rate. Among them, textiles exported 3 billion U.S. dollars, down 5% year-on-year; garment exports 13.9 billion U.S. dollars, up 0.55% year-on-year. The main features of the export are as follows:

In January and August, the value of exports fell once again. From monthly exports, exports to Japan experienced a dramatic ups and downs in the first quarter (a 16.68% growth in February and a 10.50% decline in March). From April onwards, exports gradually stabilized, continuing for four consecutive years. Monthly growth has continued to increase slightly. In August, due to the large decline in apparel exports, the export of textile and apparel to Japan fell by 2.83%.

Second, in August, the depth of cotton exports fell. In August, China exported 47.05 million U.S. dollars to Japan, a year-on-year decrease of 11%, which was a 6.4 percentage point drop from the previous month. Among them, the volume and value of cotton exports fell deep. Cotton exports 9.26 million meters, down 40% year-on-year, exports 9.98 million US dollars, down 44% year-on-year; chemical fiber fabrics exported 15.05 million meters, 13.97 million US dollars, volume and value were basically flat.

In August, the export of silk fabrics in August increased sharply. In August, I exported 600,000 pieces (sets) of silk woven garments to Japan, an increase of 781% year-on-year, and the export value was 14.19 million US dollars, an increase of 325% year-on-year. Comparing the rapid growth of 111% of the export volume of woven silk fabrics from January to August, there was an explosive growth, indicating that the demand for silk woven garments in Japan will increase substantially in the future.

4. In January-August, the export volume of manufactured goods in major categories of goods slowed down. The average price growth was large in January-August, and finished goods exported 2 billion U.S. dollars to Japan, down 4.12% year-on-year; export volume decreased by 22.89% year-on-year; The average unit price was 1.33 US dollars per unit, an increase of 25% over the same period of last year. Among them, the number of home textiles exported to Japan fell by 40% year-on-year, a large drop; the average export price increased by 54%, which is the fastest-growing commodity in the export of textiles and garments to Japan; the volume of industrial textiles kept increasing year-on-year, export volume The growth was 9.53%, and the export value was US$111 million, an increase of 13.22%. The average unit price was US$5.53 per unit, an increase of 3.37% over the same period last year.

5. From January to August, Zhejiang has the fastest growth rate in exporting major provinces, and Liaoning has the largest decline from January to August. The top five provinces that I export to Japan are Jiangsu, Shandong, Shanghai, Zhejiang and Liaoning. The Japanese export accounted for 80% of the total, of which Zhejiang exported 2.287 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for 13.55%, up 6.20% year-on-year; Liaoning exported 1 billion U.S. dollars, down 6% year-on-year; Jiangsu and Shanghai fell 2.49% and 2.28% respectively.
