Gold corals usually grow on submarine corals or rocks with a depth of more than 10 meters, and the height is 5-6 meters. It is shaped like a silk willow on land, so it is called the sea willow. Because it resembles a tree, many people think that sea willow is a marine plant. In fact, it is an authentic marine animal, belonging to the iron tree family of coelenterate, a kind of golden-horned coral, and a close relative of the sea otter we often eat! The folks also call it the sea bones and sea iron trees.

Gold coral is a rare species of coral. It is distributed in the seabed in the western part of Hainan. It is closely fixed on the rock. It grows slowly and has a long period. The shape of the group is roughly two kinds of trees and whip. They have black bones, while the polyps are white and transparent, distributed on the surface of the bones. The tree-shaped horn corals are shaped like pine trees, so they are also called sea pines. The length of the whip-like horn-horned corals (Cirripathes) can be up to five. Hailiu is a submarine shrub with a life span of several thousand years. It belongs to the marine plant Iron Tree Branch. It is thick and dense, and the leaves are slender. It contains tannic acid and salicylic acid, which can play astringent bactericidal effect. It is also a good medicine for treating simple thyroid. Fresh sea willow leaves can also treat high blood pressure. Gold coral is not a real coral but a kind of sea tree. It belongs to the plant organic mineral and is a horny coral, which is slightly different from the common red coral (calcium type).
